Thinking of having a display?
Things to consider...
If you are considering holding a firework display, your initial
thoughts should turn to the display area and location around it.
The size and features around the site can dictate what size of
display and type of fireworks can safely be used. The site must
have enough space between the launch area and the audience and
of course be away from any buildings/property that could pose
problems. As long as these factors are taken into account the
its up to you to dictate the content of the display.
Things you may wish to consider
for your display:
Colour(s)
If you have any preference to colour - perhaps you may wish to
use corporate colours for a product launch, or just have a favorite
colour, these can be included or followed.
Noise
All fireworks make some noise,
but some more than others. There are three main noises that fireworks
make - crackles, whistles and bangs. Perhaps you have a preference,
if you do then let us know. Sometime the location of the display
may mean you need to consider the noise for the local residents.
If you decide to have a display in an inhabited areas , perhaps
consider letting the people know to ensure their pets are safe
inside.
Height:
Fireworks roughly fall into three height levels:
Low Level: Roman candles, small
cakes, mines and fountains. These project effect up to about 20
feet or so. Typical noises are crackles, and small bangs and even
whistles.
Medium Level: Large Mines, Large
Cakes and Small Shells (aerial fireworks). These are likely to
travel between 20 and 100 feet. The noises are usually louder
that those of the ground level, but can be chosen without loud
bangs and whistles if necessary.
High Level: Large aerial fireworks,
shells which burst hundreds of feet in the air, these usually
form the finale of a display or can form a major part of a large
display. These fireworks need to be launched in large open areas.
Again these can be relatively silent or have loud bangs, but given
their size there is usually some noise on launch.
